Movement can help control emotional highs and lows. If a movement feels right to you and your body, then you are moving from your true self. When you operate from your true self, your awareness is enhanced. It is then possible to witness your emotions. So, when situations out of your control arise you can find a place of contentment where the highs and lows are not as extreme. During movement, notice in your own practice when you experience the highs and lows and practice witnessing these emotions and letting them go.

A movement is an act that teaches. If a movement feels right to you and your body, then you are moving from your true self. When we are connected to our true self, we are unaffected by outer circumstances, e.g. "I receive positive feedback and I'm elated, someone walked out of my class so I feel depressed, I was able to do handstand and I’m thrilled, I can’t hold plank pose and I feel like a loser, etc." During movement notice what your body is able and not able to do and honour them equally. There are always other variations and ways to gain the same benefits from a more challenging movement.
